Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas seeks an experienced nurse to provide independent clinical care in a fast-paced setting. The role emphasizes the nursing process, patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.

The position requires BLS, RN licensure in the state or a compact with at least 1 year of related experience preferred. New nurses participate in orientation and ongoing competency validation within the first 30 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a MedSurg specific competency validation.
• All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.

Credential Grace Periods:

If additional credentials are required per the Position Requirements section, a grace period to obtain the certification will apply, dependent on your experience level.
