Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Shreveport, LA, seeks a per diem nurse with a BSN preferred to provide routine and complex care in a clinical setting. The role supports long-range goals, delegates appropriately, and maintains readiness for contingencies in patient care.

The position requires BLS, and an RN license in the state of employment or a compact license. Multiple shifts are available, with per diem as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with practice level.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
