Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Registered Nurse II to join an ambulatory thoracic surgery team in Los Angeles. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients across a thoracic care continuum, coordinating pre- and post-procedure care with thoracic surgeons, APs, and multidisciplinary teams.

In this role, you will educate patients and families, monitor for complications, document care plans, and serve as a clinical resource throughout the patient journey.

Qualifications

• Assoc. Degree or college diploma in nursing is required.
• BSN from a state-accredited program is preferred.
• 1 year of acute care experience is required for external hires; promotion to Clinical Nurse II after one year is automatic with satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient thoracic surgery care with thoracic surgeons, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support patients before and after procedures and serve as a clinical resource throughout the care continuum.

Qualifications

Education

• Assoc. Degree/College Diploma - minimum
• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (state accredited program) - preferred

Experience

• 1 year For external hires, acute care experience in their specialty for new hires. Promotion to Clinical Nurse II is automatic after completion of one (1) year of clinical experience and a satisfactory performance appraisal at a Clinical Nurse I level. - minimum

Licenses and Certifications

• RN State License - Upon Hire minimum California State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum BLS Certification. As required by your specialty unit.
• Other – See Department Specifics - 1 Year minimum Other Competencies, as required by your specialty unit (ex. ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring)
• ANCC Specialty Certification - preferred Any ANCC Specialty Certification strongly recommended after 2 years in specialty
