• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Required for Internal Float Pool, Registry Nursing Services, & Agency RNs.
• Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
• Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program.
• One year full-time RN experience or completion of GN Program.
• Two years in the specialty area for Registry NCIs and Agency RNs.
• Bilingual Skills preferred.
• Strong communication and PC skills.

Job Summary
The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources. Internal Float Pool NCIIs are expected to work in any unit within the assigned department(s). Registry Nursing Services NCs and Agency RNs float within a Service, across multiple Services, within a Pavilion and/or across multiple pavilions.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Required for Internal Float Pool, Registry Nursing Services, & Agency RNs
Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
Other certificates as required by unit/service.
Work Experience:
One (1) year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program
Two (2) Years Work Experience in the area(s) of specialty for Registry NCs and Agency RNs
Language Skills: Bilingual Skills Preferred
