Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston seeks a registered nurse to provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire or reclassification date.
• A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient/family centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
