Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in the assigned care setting. The role requires nursing judgment, compassion, and collaboration with physicians, leadership, and a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

The RN will perform general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritization while maintaining patient autonomy and dignity.

Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately based on their medical condition.
• Administers medications as prescribed with knowledge of ordered medications.
• Provides care appropriate to the patient's condition and age including basic self-care activities.
• Teaches plan based on learning needs and includes family in teaching.
• Uses nursing knowledge to perform treatments and services.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs skills requiring manual dexterity.
• Addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families and liaises with social services for discharge needs.
• Demonstrates cost-effective use of supplies and prioritizes patient care.
• Promotes patient safety by reducing harm in health care.
• Engages in lifelong learning related to nursing.
