Responsibilities

• Evaluates one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations, identifying short and long‑term professional goals.

Minimum Education Qualification

An Associate Degree in Nursing. Equivalent knowledge, experience, education, or training may be substituted for education. Must have participated in 30 hours of continuing education in nursing every two years, 16 of which are in the specific area of practice.

Minimum Experience Qualification

Specific experience may be required for each work area.

Minimum Certification Qualification

• Current registered nurse license in the State of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support card required.
• Additional certifications as required for specific work area. New Employees must obtain the required certifications within six months of hire; New graduates within 18 months of hire; Contract and MOA employees must come with the required training completed as outlined in individual contracts/MOAs, remaining licensed and active with all annual licensing requirements.

Preferred Education Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Preferred Certification Qualification

National certification preferred.
