Job summary

Methodist Hospital Westover Hills in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse II for Labor and Delivery. The role focuses on delivering safe, compassionate care and supporting families through the birth experience, guided by the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.

You will provide direct patient care, prioritize vital tasks, and comply with Texas Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. A minimum of 6 months RN acute care experience is required, with ACLS and BLS training

Qualifications

• ACLS required within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS/CPR required within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN eligible (RN license active in TX).
• Neonatal Resuscitation, or ADN/BSN must be obtained within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe nursing care using the nursing process and critical thinking.
• Collaborate with the care team to achieve quality outcomes.
• Advocate for patients and families, maintaining professionalism and compassion.
• Follow hospital policies and Texas Nurse Practice Act in delegated tasks.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The professional Registered Nurse (RN) is the patient and patient’s family advocate. He/she consistently applies and utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients. The RN collaborates with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes in alignment with the Hospital mission and Methodist Excellence goals. Communicates and utilizes interpersonal skills effectively and role models confidence and professionalism within nursing as evidenced by active engagement in unit and organizational activities. Demonstrates team work and adaptability and is a resource person to the patient care team. He/she is accountable for the quality of nursing care services delivered by self or others under their direction in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures and the Texas Board of Nursing rules for delegated nursing tasks (Chapter 224). Promotes a positive image of nursing and demonstrates team work and adaptability through consistently following the standards of Methodist Excellence.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Neonate Resuscitate, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
