You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess the patient\'s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient\'s medical record. Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient\'s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
  • Apply nursing judgment through a thorough, systematic approach of applying the nursing process to include: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation/reassessment.
  • Assessment: Conduct comprehensive, timely, and ongoing focused physical, psychosocial and pain assessments; include assessment of patient education needs.
  • Planning: Identify problems, make nursing diagnoses, formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes to create an individualized plan of care; identify patient goals, readiness to learn and incorporate family into the plan of care.
  • Implementation: Prioritize and implement a competent, prioritized and efficient nursing plan of care.
  • Evaluation/Reassessment: Conduct timely evaluation, anticipate changes in patient conditions, determine reassessments needed, adjust the plan of care, and communicate with the patient care team. Maintain hand-off communication (SBAR), document entries, and ensure safety practices and adherence to policies.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and organizational skills. Maintain current nursing knowledge to assure a safe working environment. Follow safety policies and oxygen, infection prevention, fall prevention, medication administration safety, hourly rounding, and AIDET principles.
  • Supervise tasks delegated to unlicensed personnel and be accountable for tasks performed according to Texas BON rules for delegated nursing tasks (Chapter 224).
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives. Assist in providing education for staff and share information/resources with team members.
  • Maintain patient information confidentiality and privacy; ensure secure handling of both written and electronic records.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
