Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide individualized, goal‑directed patient care to patients and families under general supervision, applying the nursing process and collaborating with the health‑care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), at least one year of RN experience, SC Board licensure or compact state, BLS and ACLS, and the ability to work a 36‑hour day shift.

Qualifications

Compensation

Qualifications

Minimum Training and Education

• Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS Healthcare Providers or equivalent). Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, kneeling, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, pinching operations, gross motor activities with fingers and hands, fine manipulation, reach overhead, repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders, use of both legs, balance and coordination, reach in all directions, lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted, lift from 36 in. to overhead 25 lbs, exert up to 50 lbs of force.
• Visual acuity: 20/40 corrected in one or both eyes.
• Hearing acuity with correction.
• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts, overtime as required, latex safe environment, maintain tactile sensory functions. Selected positions may require good olfactory function and respirator use.
