Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse I to join our clinical team.

The role assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards to monitor patient status and deliver safe, high-quality care. Work schedule is full-time days, Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm with a 7-day call rotation and on-site sleep arrangements during call shifts.

Qualifications

  • Has completed basic professional nursing education approved by a state board.
  • Holds or is entitled to hold a licensed RN in Oklahoma.
  • 0–6 months related nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
  • Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering age, culture and psychosocial factors.
  • Documents steps of the nursing process using proper terminology.
  • Addresses problems and progress toward goals for patient care.
  • Facilitates discharge through referrals and patient education resources.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines; supports PI and education activities.

Job description

Full Time Days Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Call is 1 week (7 days) at a time per rotation schedule 30-minute call back time is preferred - you can make arrangements to sleep on-site during your call rotation.

16 hours each day Monday - Friday 24 hours Saturday and Sunday Holidays per rotation

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status.

Minimum Education

Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification

Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.

Work Experience

0 - 6 months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process. Utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.

Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.

Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
