Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Registered Nurse I at Clifton Springs Hospital to provide high-quality patient care in the Med/Surg department. The role is per diem with rotating days, nights, and every other weekend/holiday, requiring flexibility and strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Required BLS and NYS RN license; a nursing diploma/ADN is required with an optional BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse license in New York State required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and documents findings.
• Communicates assessment with the interdisciplinary team and utilizes resources.
• Develops and documents plan of care tailored to patient needs and goals.
• Complies with policies on safety, medication administration and documentation.
• Updates plan of care based on ongoing evaluations.
• Completes at least one CRU form using a current US-based article.

SUMMARY

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. You make a positive

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient).
• Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals.
• Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation.
• Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
• Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States.

Compliance

• Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.
• Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision‑making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask‑fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
