Registered Nurse – Hospice - Remote (Thursday to Sunday, 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm MST)

Job Overview

CareXM is seeking a remote Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours telephone triage care to hospice and home health patients and caregivers. This flexible position allows you to work from home while making a meaningful difference.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide compassionate after-hours RN telephone triage care.
  2. Assess patient needs and offer appropriate care instructions.
  3. Communicate empathetically with callers in difficult situations.
  4. Coordinate care with healthcare team members.
  5. Document patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR).
Qualifications
  1. RN license in a compact state (in good standing).
  2. Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in home health, palliative, med-surg, geriatrics, ICU, ER, or hospice preferred.
  3. Fluent in English; Spanish skills are a plus.
  4. Proficiency with computers and telecommunications equipment.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  7. Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  8. Meet California RN prerequisites for examination and endorsements (see link).
Training & Work Schedule
  • Four-week training program.
  • Training meetings: Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm MST for two weeks.
  • Week three: Thursday plus an additional weekday assigned by trainer.
  • Week four: Two weekdays assigned by trainer.
  • Work schedule: Thursday to Sunday, 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm MST.

  • Personal computer with internet, webcam, Windows 11 or Mac OS 14+, 2.5 GHz CPU, 6GB RAM.
