Qualifications

• Education: BSN degree from NLNAC/CCNE-accredited program.
• Experience: 12 months in Infusion Center/Clinic in past 24 months.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted RN license from any state.
• Life Support: BLS and ACLS required; Oncology Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care within the unit and with ancillary services to ensure continuum of care.
• Make patient care assignments based on scope of practice and staff skill level.
• Perform nursing procedures including counseling, education, chart reviews, IV therapy, oxygen, vital signs, and specimen collection.
• Participate in orientation and training of new personnel and peer mentoring.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, radiology and lab to plan, implement and evaluate care.

Responsibilities

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, within the core clinic hours of 0600 to 1800

Shift Structure: A flexible schedule, including 10-hour shifts, will be assigned by the Government supervisor to ensure clinic coverage and meet patient care needs. All shifts include a minimum 30-minute uncompensated lunch break.

General Knowledge:

• Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.

• Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents, to specifically include chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), including the desired effects, side effects, and
• Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.

Job Specific Details andTasks:

• Manages patient care requirements within the unit as well as coordinates with ancillary departments and outside organizations to ensure the continuum of care.
• Is accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
• Performs a full range of nursing procedures to include, but not limited to: patient counseling and education, telephone consultations with patients, reviewing charts, intravenous fluid administration, oxygen administration, vital signs monitoring and recording, specimen collection, and other unit-specific procedures as prescribed by the

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: BSN Degree. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).Experience:Must be employed in an Infusion Center/Clinic within past 24 months with at least 12 months experience.
• Licensure: Possess current unrestricted RN License from any state.
• Life Support Certification: Possess current ARC or AHA BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) are required. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification is required at hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Must maintain currency of certifications at NO cost to the government.
