Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Harrington Emergency Room in Southbridge, MA, working the night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

This 36-hour weekly position is on-site at the Southbridge facility and includes responsibilities across the nursing process, patient assessment, discharge planning, and coordination of care. Qualifications include MA RN licensure, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and BLS certification (ACLS preferred).

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure and registration as a registered nurse.
• Completion of an accredited school of nursing program.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS if current.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Perform patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develop and coordinate individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care within the assigned setting.
• Administer medications and assist physicians with treatments and procedures as required.

Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Required: 1. Current Massachusetts licensure and registration. 2. Completion of an accredited school of nursing program. 3. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.Experience/Skills:Required: 1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.
