Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO seeks a Float Medical-Surgical nurse to care for adults and geriatrics with medical or surgical conditions. You will assess, administer medications, monitor vitals, document care, and provide patient and family education.

Must hold Missouri RN license; BLS within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year; BSN preferred. Night shift 6:30 PM–7:00 AM; 36 hours per week; on-site at CoxHealth South.

Job Description

The float Medical-Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
