Job summary

Strategic Resilience Group seeks an on-site Registered Nurse for the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Menlo Park. You will provide geriatric nursing care, adhere to VA policies, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of patient care.

The role requires current RN licensure, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and BLS certification. Expect varied shifts (8/10/12 hours) with strict adherence to VA training and scheduling rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site geriatric nursing care at VA Palo Alto Health Care System facilities, primarily Menlo Park.
• Deliver nursing services meeting standards of care used in state-of-the-art civilian facilities.
• Perform clinical duties within RN scope of practice per VA policies and directives.
• Coordinate with VA clinical staff to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
• Accurately document care and comply with VA timekeeping and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Adhere to infection control, privacy, and patient safety requirements.
• Complete VA training prior to first shift and annually thereafter.
• Comply with VA scheduling requirements and assigned shifts.

• Perform clinical duties within RN scope of practice in accordance with VA policies, directives, and handbooks
• Coordinate with VA clinical staff to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
• Accurately document care and comply with VA timekeeping and sign-in/sign-out procedures
• Adhere to infection control, privacy, and patient safety requirements
• Complete all VA-required training prior to first shift and annually thereafter
• Comply with VA scheduling requirements and assigned shifts

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license with no negative indicators
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Minimum two (2) years of recent RN experience
• Geriatric nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (current)
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
• Ability to pass VA background investigation and credentialing
• Completion of required VA training, immunizations, and occupational health screenings prior to first duty shift

Preferred Qualifications

Work Schedule (Per PWS)

• Variable shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours)
• Coverage may include day, evening, and night shifts
• No overtime and no holiday work authorized
• Maximum of 40 hours per week

• VA background investigation paperwork completed within required timelines
• Proof of licensure, education, certifications, and training upon request
• Compliance with VA infection control, immunization, and annual training requirements
• Adherence to VA privacy, security, and professional conduct standards
