Job summary

The Valley Health System's Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide safe, patient-centered care in a busy hospital setting.

You will lead a healthcare team, ensure adherence to policies, and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes through collaboration and professional judgment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
• Current BLS Certification. ACLS Certification (adult patients) or PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as applicable.
• One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies and standards.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Oversees and guides employees under supervision. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with an NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course/or equivalent within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.

Experience:

One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.

License/Certification:

Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification (adult patients), current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients). Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department.

Other:

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Note:

An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. An interim RN license must be granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
