Job summary

Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit by assessing patient needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the physician and care team
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
• Provide patient and family education regarding care, treatment, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Respond effectively in emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions

Qualifications

• Current license in the State of Kansas (or compact license)
• BLS certification required
• Previous Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred
