Job summary

Sierra Vista Hospital in Sacramento, a 171-bed behavioral health facility, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nursing Department. Join a team dedicated to serving patients with emotional, behavioral and addiction concerns in a full-service mental health setting.

The Staff Nurse ensures patient care coordination and applies nursing processes in collaboration with the health team. Licensure by the State Board of Nursing, CPR, and completion of the hospital’s behavioral management training are

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Experience: At least 6 months; psychiatric facility experience preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing; valid driver's license preferred.
• Must pass medication administration exam; CPR certification and behavioral health training required before assisting in procedures.
• Overtime and flexible hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the health team.
• Participate in cross-functional training to support care across the facility.
• Ensure nursing process is followed and standards of care are met.

Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses for the Nursing Department. If you're passionate about working in the behavioral health setting and have the desire to join a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to serving our patients, we want to hear from you!

The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

Shifts:

PM:3-11:30pm

NOC: 11pm-7:30am

POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Cross-functional training may be required to learn skills that will allow the license to work seamlessly throughout the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. AssociatesDegrees accepted,Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: At least 6 months experience. Experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Valid driver's license preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification, and successful completion of the hospital’s designated behavioral and physical management training program including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
