Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day shift in the radiology department. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

• Accepts responsibilities delegated by the Charge Nurse or team leader and evaluates the nursing care provided in the area assigned.
• Assists the physicians in performing special procedures
• Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas and ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.
• Implements physician’s orders in a safe and accurate manner.
• Assists with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Transcribes and implements new physician orders.
• Adapts to the needs of the unit by demonstrating flexibility/adaptability.
• Maintains detailed and accurate records of nursing actions.
• Participates in health/therapeutic counseling, teaching/emotional support for patients and significant others.
• Makes rounds on assigned patients and prioritizes patient’s needs.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and co-workers.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids).
