Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the designated Nurse Manager, the Staff Nurse is responsible for professional, direct patient care. The Staff Nurse will utilize the nursing process within their scope of practice to assess, develop nursing diagnoses, develop a plan of care, implement it, monitor for effectiveness, and adjust appropriately for each patient’s plan of care. The Staff Nurse is responsible for care, in areas assigned, within the Surgery Center, as needed. Starting pay ranges between $60 and $62 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese preferred)
• RN or LVN with an active license, no restrictions, in an appropriate state
• One year of nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• CPR, BLS, and ACLS certification (as required by the Center)
• Strong ethical and moral character references
• Basic computer skills
• Must pass a background check and drug screen

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtains and documents patient history and performs a physical assessment
• Uses proper techniques and procedures in accordance with accepted standards of practice and center policies and procedures
• Applies dressings and assesses status
• Safely uses medical equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Inserts, assesses, or discontinues various catheters and tubes
• Effectively organizes and eliminates wasteful use of time, equipment, and supplies
• Observes universal precautions
• Attends all required education and training
• Makes regular and predictable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned
