Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Team in Critical Care on a 12-hour night shift. The role emphasizes direct and indirect patient care using professional nursing skills.

The RN will assess patient needs, document assessments and plans, use the information system for care coordination, and participate in interprofessional rounds while maintaining infection control and a safe environment.

Qualifications

• BSN required from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License.
• AHA BLS.
• 3 years of experience in critical care.

Responsibilities

• Documents admission assessment, reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use.
• Uses the information management system to communicate patient condition changes to the team and prioritize tasks.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information during bedside rounds.
• Recognizes patient needs and refers abuse appropriately.
• Incorporates pain management and supportive care into the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards and maintains a safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Shift : Night Shift (7pm-7:30am)

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.


• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.


• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.


• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds


• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral


• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.


• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
