Job summary

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join the Float Pool. Float Pool staff are assigned to med/surg, stepdown, observation, or ICU units, and applicants must have at least 2 years of RN experience. The float pool provides flexible self-scheduling to fit varying shifts.

RNs with critical care skills may be placed in Critical Care; otherwise assignments span multiple GPU units. This role suits nurses who enjoy variety and avoiding a repetitive routine.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Unit Description

All the Float Pool staff is assigned to either a med/surg, stepdown, observation, or ICU unit. Must have 2 years of RN experience. The float pool allows for flexible self-scheduling. The RNs with the specific skill set can be assigned to Critical Care, otherwise any of the GPUs. Float Pool is also great for people who like change and not a repetitive routine of reporting to the same department every shift.

Education/Experience Required
