Job Summary

The Registered Nurse, in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager, is responsible for providing quality patient care by demonstrating clinical competence and participating in ongoing Performance Improvement. The RN delivers professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process, with special attention to the special needs and behaviors of the total population. Responsibilities include managing the provision of patient care through integration of the functions of the Health Care Teams and assuming leadership on the unit as directed by the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice
• Knowledge of appropriate technology and practice standards for area of responsibility
• Demonstrates sound clinical skills, understanding of the acute care process, standards of practice and positive communication skills
• Registered Nurse, New York – New York State Board of Nursing required
• BLS certification – American Heart Association required
