Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a full-time PrePost/PASS Registered Nurse for the endoscopy unit. The RN will prepare endoscopy and pain management patients for their procedures, with discharge planning and pre-anesthesia screening prior to procedures.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, 0600–1630; no on-call, no holidays, no weekends. Requires RN licensure and nursing degree; endoscopy experience preferred.

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
• Registered Nurse license (Required).
• Endoscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process across pre/post endoscopy.
• Prepare patients for discharge or transfer after procedures.
• Complete pre-anesthesia screening prior to procedures.

Overview

Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a full-time PrePost/PASS Registered Nurse for the endoscopy unit. This position responsible for the preparation of endoscopy and pain management patients for their procedure, preparing patients for discharge or transfer following their procedure, and completing the pre-anesthesia screening process prior to their procedure.

Monday-Friday, 8-hr shifts vary between 0600-1630, no on-call, no holidays, no weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
