Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to provide high-quality patient care using the nursing process. You will coordinate patient care in collaboration with multiple departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality, and you will ensure ongoing evaluation of care provided by colleagues.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license in the hiring state (or compact) and a nursing degree (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN).

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the hiring state or compact licensure; required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completed within 30 days of hire.
• One or more unit-specific certifications may be required (ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, STABLE, C-EFM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for patient care for assigned patients.

Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
