St. Mary's Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a full‑time night shift from 7p to 7:30a. You will provide direct patient care, coordinate with physicians, and supervise and teach unlicensed staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state.
• BLS certification required on hire and kept current.
• ALS certification within 30 days of hire and kept current.
• PALS and/or ENPC within 60 days of hire and kept current.
• CEN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• ECRN or MICN certificate within 12 months of hire.
• EDAP certification: annual education completed.
• NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and kept current.
• TNCC required within 12 months (preferred for non-trauma).

Responsabilités

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below)

• ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education
• Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain. Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
