Job summary

Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. You will work nights and provide direct patient care while guiding patient/family teaching and coordinating with physicians.

Required are a current RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS within specified timeframes; at least one year in acute care (ER preferred).

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• PALS or ENPC within 30 days of hire.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in Telemetry/ED.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and test results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; respond quickly to changes in condition.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patients clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements

• In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
