Job summary

Anderson Hospital in Illinois seeks an experienced Emergency Department nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team led by the ED physician.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Illinois licensed or eligible to practice nursing in Illinois.
• CPR certification required; ACLS/TNCC/PALS/ENPC preferred.

Job Summary: Provides direct patient care, effectively utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes. Works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team led by the Emergency Department Physician to meet the individualized need of the patient and family. Will practice within the parameters of the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act and Anderson Hospital policies and procedures. Practices autonomously and in accordance with professional nursing standards.Job Responsibilities:Effectively utilizes the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes.Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.Completes focused and ongoing assessments and documentation.Completed pain assessment—ongoing and after intervention.Supports patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural and religious diversity.Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides ongoing education and evaluation. Documents readiness to learn, teaching, barriers and outcomes.Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner, according to hospital policies and procedures.Engages in activities to expand and/or enhance the professional nursing role, which includes integration of research and evidence based practice.
