Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a per diem night shift. This role blends direct patient care with managerial responsibilities and involves coordinating with physicians, the Nurse Manager, and leadership on changes in patient condition.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years of ED experience, a current RN license in the state, BCLS, ACLS and PALS within six months of hire; ENPC/TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain management techniques, and educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients and accurately assigns triage categories

Position

This Emergency Department Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient flexible night shift schedule. This position performs a dual function, clinical and managerial. It provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting, and participates in hiring staff. The RN communicates with physicians, Nurse Manager, Director and co-workers about changes in a patient\'s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The RN is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
