Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift. The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care, communicate with physicians about changes in conditions, and be prepared to float to all units as needed.

Qualifications

Active NV nursing license is required.
ACLS and BLS certification required; PALS within six months.
Minimum 2.5 years ER experience.
Willing to float to all units as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes, consulting with specialists as required.
Perform head-to-toe assessments across pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Use triage to ensure timely and appropriate care and accurately assign triage categories.
Educate patients and families on pain management and recovery plans.

This Emergency Department Registered Nurse opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. We are looking for a dynamic experienced ER Registered Nurse who will provide direct and indirect patient care to our patients with compassion and respect. You will communicate with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Must be willing to float to all units.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
