Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department's high‑performing team. As a night shift RN you will provide patient‑centered care in a level one trauma and comprehensive stroke center, supported by a mission‑driven, Equity‑focused culture.

You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, deliver care across assessment, planning, and education, and rely on our evidence‑based practices to achieve exceptional outcomes for patients and families in

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• 1+ years RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma/ASN/BSN; BSN preferred; BSN within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Emergency Department, including assessment and planning.
• Communicate with health care team, patients and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow BMC nursing policies and guidelines.
• Support leadership in quality improvement projects.

The Adult Emergency Department is a level one trauma center and comprehensive stroke center located in Boston’s South End. Position Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Job Requirements

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range

$38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
