Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse in Emergency to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. This 0.9 FTE, full-time weekend schedule supports critical care delivery in a fast-paced ED environment.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, implement and monitor care plans, document patient status, and assist with discharge planning and education tailored to age and culture.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years of employment.
  • RN license in Kentucky required upon hire.
  • BLS certification required within 45 days of employment.
  • ACLS/ALS required within 12 months of employment.
  • PALS certification required within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and discharge planning.
  • Monitor and document patient condition; communicate effectively with team.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care for well-coordinated patient outcomes.
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders; assess learning needs and educate patients/families.

Weekend Requirements: One | Work Hours: 6p-6a, 3 days/week, every third weekend | State: Full Time - 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Emergency

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis,

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.

  • Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND

  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position AND

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Healthcare Provider through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS - Advanced Life Support Healthcare Provider through American Red Cross (ARC) required within 12 months of employment in this position AND

  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required within 12 months of employment in this position
