Job summary

Cedars-Sinai’s Cardiovascular Intervention Center in Los Angeles seeks a Clinical Nurse III to deliver expert nursing care in a high-velocity EP setting within the Smidt Heart Institute. You will participate in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures and rotate to circulations, monitoring, and scrubbing for invasive cases.

The role includes on-call EP coverage and requires strong clinical proficiency across neonatal to geriatric populations, with exposure to x-ray guided

Qualifications

• 3 years relevant acute care experience in their area of specialty.
• 1 year must be a Clinical Nurse II at CSMC for at least one (1) year, to be promoted within the clinical ladder.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process and deliver patient care in a fast-paced EP environment.
• Circulate, monitor, and scrub for invasive procedures for cardiac patients from admission to discharge.
• Provide care with x-ray exposure in the electrophysiology (EP) procedure rooms.
• On-call coverage for urgent EP procedures on weekends and holidays with a 120-minute response time.

The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.

As a Clinical Nurse III, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. You will work in an extremely fast-paced environment (Electrophysiology procedure rooms). EP Procedures include arrhythmia ablations, cardiac implantable electronic devices such as pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). You will also be cross-trained to use your clinical proficiencies to circulate, monitor, scrub for invasive procedures for a population from neonate to geriatric. This role entails care of Cardiac patients from point of admission to discharge, including prolonged hours in a procedure setting with x-ray exposure. Responsibilities include: On-call coverage for urgent EP procedures on weekends and holidays with a response time of 120 minutes.

Education

• Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Nursing - minimum
• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (state accredited program) - preferred

Experience
