Job summary

Sheltering Arms Institute, a nonprofit rehabilitation hospital in Richmond, VA, seeks a dedicated RN/Clinical Nurse to join our care team alongside physicians, therapists and psychologists. You will deliver age-appropriate nursing care, administer medications safely, document care accurately, and contribute to an integrated plan of care under medical orders.

Graduate of an accredited RN program with an active RN license and BLS HCP certification is required.

RN/Clinical Nurse

The RN is a key member of our care team working alongside doctors, therapists and medical psychologists integrating technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. Assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. Provides direction, education, and begins to acquire leadership skills at the unit level. Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, transdisciplinary plan of care. Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
• Night or weekend shifts are eligible for shift differential pay. Differential rates vary by shift hours and are added to the base hourly rate.
• This range reflects our commitment to pay equity and market-competitive compensation.
• Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Clinical I: N/A
• Clinical II: >= 12 to 24 months RN experience
• Clinical III: >= 3 years clinical experience
• Clinical IV: >= 5 years clinical experience
• Clinical V: > 5 years clinical experience

Preferred

• Clinical I: Experience as a LPN, nursing assistant, or care partner in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
• Clinical II, Clinical III, Clinical IV, & Clinical V: Academic health care experience, experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice

Education/Certifications Required

• Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program required
• RN - licensed registered nurse
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent

Education/Certifications Preferred

• Completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
