Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Wales, Florida seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to assess patients comprehensively, develop care plans, and administer treatments in an acute care setting. You will educate patients and families, coordinate with the care team, document outcomes, and ensure safety and infection control standards are met.

The role requires RN licensure, English fluency, and excellent communication skills; bachelor's degree preferred and 1+ acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN qualifications and licensure required
• Clinical nursing experience preferred in acute care
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic software

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments across physical, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; continuously review and adjust as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols; monitor for adverse effects.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective teamwork.
• Document patient information, care activities, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Evaluate care plan effectiveness and adjust to improve outcomes.
• Ensure infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care to the healthcare team; participate in performance improvement.
• Respond promptly to code situations with appropriate interventions.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain patient care proficiency.
