Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to support patient-centered care. You will work with the unit team to identify problems, plan care, and educate patients and families.

This role requires competent assessment, planning, and independent execution of nursing interventions with a focus on safety and quality. Expect a Day shift with a 36-hour scheduled week and a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Baccalaureate Nursing degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurately with patients, families, and staff at handoffs and as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care with independence.
• Document nursing care in real time according to hospital policy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to promote patient safety and quality care.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed and non-licensed staff as assigned.
• Provide age-appropriate communication and education to patients and families.
