MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West in Ohio. The role features a rotating shift pattern (7a–7p / 7p–7a) with weekends and holidays rotating, and bi-weekly hours totaling 72.

A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualifying experienced RNs and $5,000 for new graduates. The unit handles congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA, and sepsis, with 24 beds and advanced telemetry.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide nursing care on the Critical Care Step-Down Unit (7 West).
• Assist with bedside procedures and coordinate with PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT and OT.
• Monitor patients with CHF, COPD, DKA and sepsis using telemetry and critical care resources.

All Critical Care units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring. The Critical Care Step-Down (CCSD) team staffs the Cardiac Hospitalist Unit. As a medical-surgical unit, the nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1.

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:
