• Deliver care that is appropriate to the age of the patient.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care and adapt plan based on patient/family response.
• Establish professional relationships with patients, families, nurses and physicians.
• Educate the patient and family about illness and treatment.
• Lead and teach within the unit and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Pursue lifelong learning and apply evidence-based practice.
