This position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional perioperative care while working alongside a highly skilled and collaborative surgical services team.
The Perioperative Staff Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for providing nursing assessment and initiating nursing care for patients ranging from pediatric through geriatric populations undergoing surgical or outpatient procedures. This role provides direct patient care throughout the surgical experience, with primary emphasis on the intraoperative period, while also maintaining responsibility for preoperative assessment, postoperative evaluation, and recovery.
The Operating Room RN circulates procedures, practices with a strong understanding of aseptic and safety techniques, competently manages and processes specimens, and maintains a working knowledge of equipment used during perioperative interventions. The RN collaborates with physicians and members of the patient care team to prioritize workloads, achieve positive patient outcomes, and promote a cohesive, professional environment.
