Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, Florida is seeking a seasoned Critical Care Registered Nurse. The role focuses on rapid assessment, mitigation of acute changes, and collaborative patient care to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes.

You will participate in teaching and supporting bedside nurses during rapid response events, document assessments and interventions, and maintain regulatory compliance while advancing your clinical ladder.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required; Bachelor degree preferred.
• RN license required; BLS and NIHSS may be required.
• 3–5+ years of critical care nursing experience.

Job Description:

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Respond immediately to clinical deterioration or emergency calls.
• Provide real-time education on early warning signs, interventions, and documentation.
• Support and coach bedside nurses during and after rapid response events. Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives. Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Perform focused and comprehensive assessments of patients experiencing acute changes.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
