Job summary

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Registered Nurse or BSN for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD). Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement a plan for health screenings.
• Coordinate, design and implement special health care procedures.
• Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection‑control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR and other in‑service training as needed.
• Administer medication and other health care procedures.
• Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
• Oversee all SHCP, ensuring they are completed correctly and all necessary supplies are available; notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
• Utilize each student’s individual communication system.
• Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
• Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
• Collaborate with building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe and clean environment.
• Maintain CPR training instructor certification.
• Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information.

Salary: $46,272 – $49,872

Please note: The salary range listed is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years‑of‑service adjustments or shift differentials may earn above the stated range.

What You’ll Do
