Montage Health is seeking a Registered Nurse with Cath Lab or critical care experience to join the team in Monterey, CA. You will plan, direct, assess, and provide nursing care according to hospital policies, while orienting staff and precepting students.
The role requires on-call availability with rotating shifts; typical hours are M-F 0700-1530 and on-call coverage as scheduled. The pay range is competitive and shift differentials apply.
Under the leadership of the department Director, Assistant Director, Nursing Supervisor, and/or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing, and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations, and broad nursing knowledge. The Registered Nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.
This position requires critical thinking, sharp assessment skills, quick decision-making ability, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure. It requires willingness and ability to be on-call on a rotating basis as scheduled and to respond within 30 minutes of call-back communication.
The Registered Nurse may be responsible for, but not limited to, performing Cath Lab invasive procedures, providing patient education for cardiac inpatients, focusing on patient outcomes, core measures, and other organizational initiatives, and coordinating clinical research activities.
Must have two years of recent Cath Lab experience with pre- and post-procedure assessment and groin management skills and/or at least two years of critical care experience (including experience with ventilators, vasoactive drips, and/or advanced telemetry).
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. ACLS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment. NIHSS Stroke Certification required within 3 months of hire.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $5.50
