Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab in Missouri. The role utilizes the nursing process to deliver patient care, collaborates with departments, and upholds patient rights and confidentiality.

Monday–Friday day shifts with on-call 12–15 days per month and occasional weekends. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and current RN license in the hiring state; ACLS and BLS certifications are required or obtainable within 30 days.

• Preferred: cath lab/ICU/ED/critical care experience.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Cardiac Cath Lab

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8 hours (day shift)

Call Requirements:

On call 12–15 days per month

Includes approximately 2 weekends per month

Required participation in STEMI and emergency call response (Callback timeframe of 30 mins)

Position Details:

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands:

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for Cath Lab role or completion within department timeframe.

Experience:

Preferred: Cath lab, ICU, ED, or other critical care experience

Consideration given to candidates with strong acute care experience and willingness to train.
