McLaren Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for Casual/PRN coverage in Emergency Services at our Michigan facilities. The nurse collaborates with physicians to plan care, delivers bedside nursing, and oversees support staff to ensure timely, evidence-based patient care.

Required qualifications include MI license, Basic Dysrhythmia, and TNCC/ENPC certifications within specified timelines. Acute care experience is preferred; the role offers on-site shifts with variable hours.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in Michigan.
• Must satisfactorily complete Basic Dysrhythmia course
• Must complete TNCC within one year of hire/transfer
• Must complete ENPC within two years of hire/transfer
• Preferred: 6 months acute care experience; Critical Care Nursing experience preferred.

Registered Nurse Casual - Emergency Services

Position Summary:
Collaborates with physician to provide a plan of care that will return the patient to optimal health. Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders. Delegates to and oversees Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Associate, OB Care Associate, Surgical Service Assistant, Nursing Clerk and Psychiatric Tech functions. Responsible for evaluating effectiveness of care plan.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Assumes responsibility for a leadership role encompassing:

• Integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice.
• Delegation and coordination of tasks and assignments of nursing care.
• Facilitates/participates in patient conferences.
• Identifies and provides the means to meet patients’ ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs by communicating with the appropriate resource persons and attending discharge/transfer planning conferences.
• Assumes the responsibility for professional growth by seeking out educational opportunities and utilizing programs in the hospital or elsewherein the community.
• Teaches and/or guides professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precepts/mentors new employees and students.
• Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in the state of Michigan.

Must satisfactorily complete first available Basic Dysrhythmia course

Must complete TNCC (Trauma Nurse Certification) within one (1) year of hire/transfer

Must complete ENPC within two (2) years of hire/transfer

Preferred:

Six (6) months experience in an acute care setting or equivalent preferred

Critical Care Nurse preferred
