Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the ASC Director of Nursing and in accordance with approved policy, assists the cardiologist and/or surgeon involved in all procedures performed in the ASC Lab. The ASC Nurse is responsible for quality care of patients before, during, and after the Cath procedure. The ASC Nurse functions as part of the team performing not only patient care functions but hemodynamic monitoring and scrub nurse duties. Accepts other responsibilities as are delegated by the Director of Nursing to assure optimum patient care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served: also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation certificate from an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) school of nursing, required
• IV certification, preferred
• ACLS certification, preferred
• BLS/CPR certification, preferred
