Job summary

The Elliot Heart and Vascular Center at Elliot Health System is expanding its cardiothoracic surgery services. We seek an experienced RN Circulator to join our perioperative team and help ensure patient safety, sterility, and smooth operations before, during, and after surgery.

Requirements include a nursing degree from an accredited program, NH RN licensure (or compact), and at least two years as a circulator. BLS is required on orientation; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a circulator.
• NH RN or Compact State RN license.
• BLS qualification during orientation; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assessing patient needs before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Operating specialized medical equipment including anesthesia machines and ventilators.
• Preparing patients for surgery by scrubbing, gowning, and positioning them on the operating table.
• Monitoring vital signs of patients under general anesthesia and recording medications.

Our highly skilled cardiothoracic surgeons, physician assistants, perfusionists, nurses and technologists provide advanced surgical treatments for conditions affecting the heart, lungs, and chest cavity.

About the Job:

Nurses provide sterility and safety for all surgical procedures. You must examine, take vital signs, verify allergies, and answer questions to prepare patients for surgery. You must also monitor each patient, record vital signs changes, and use sterile equipment during operation. After surgery, you must dispose of medical waste and disinfect the OR room before closing. You must ensure patient safety and satisfaction before, during, and after surgery. This professional ensures that all procedures go smoothly and that patients return home healthy. Your commitment to OR excellence distinguishes you from other nurses.

What You’ll Do:

• Assessing patient needs before, during and after a surgical procedure.

Who You Are:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a circulator required.
• New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License required.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Day Shift
