  • Uses cardiac monitoring equipment and interprets data for patient changes.
  • Participates in quality improvement, staff development and continuing education.

Job Description: Job Summary Responsible for providing patient-centered nursing care to individuals with cardiovascular conditions in accordance with established clinical standards and protocols. Delivers safe and effective care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs. Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes and support recovery. Ensures quality, compassion and professionalism in all aspects of cardiology nursing practice.

Essential Functions
  • Provides direct nursing care to patients with cardiac and vascular conditions following established protocols.
  • Assesses, monitors and documents patient status, symptoms and responses to treatment.
  • Administers medications and therapies as prescribed and observes for potential side effects or complications.
  • Assists physicians during cardiac procedures and diagnostic testing.
  • Educates patients and families on cardiac health, medication management and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate and implement individualized care plans.
  • Ensures adherence to infection control, safety and quality standards in all patient care activities.
  • Utilizes cardiac monitoring equipment and interprets data to identify changes in patient condition.
  • Participates in quality improvement, staff development and continuing education initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement

Associate’s degree in nursing Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred

Experience Requirement

0-2 years of experience in in nursing, or a relevant area An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
