Job summary

The Ohio State University East Hospital Cardiac Stress Lab is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. You will assess needs, plan and implement nursing interventions, and coordinate care to improve patient outcomes within the cardiovascular services unit.

Requires a nursing degree from an accredited program and current Ohio licensure or interim permit. First shift, 40 hours per week; background check and possible drug screen after offer.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN-accredited program.
• Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care to patients and their families.
• Direct and supervise nursing care by other members of the patient care team.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate and evaluate nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model.

Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Requirements: Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
